Arguably the whisky that helped drive Macallan to its current fame. Before the Fine Oak range was released, this 12yo was how whisky drinkers knew, and came to love, the Macallan. Discontinued in most parts of the world (including SA) these are hard-to-find nowadays. Matured exclusively in ex-sherry oak casks and bottled at 43%.
Nose: Vanilla with a hint of ginger, dried fruit, sherry sweetness and wood smoke.
Palate: Smooth and rich with more dried fruits and sherry, balanced with mixed spices.
Finish: Rich with sweet toffee and raisins.
